When Baller "discovered" Marbles at 102.5 FM radio station promoting his very hot new single - `Down In Turks
& Caicos' - we though the rapper / songwriter was an American tourist trying to get some easy air time. We could not
have been more wrong! With solid roots in the Turks & Caicos Islands (his father is Earl C. Handfield from Bottle Creek, North Caicos),
`Marblez', also formally know as Earl C II, is embracing his roots in one of the Caribbean's fastest growing countries. "I lived
in Grand Turk from 2 years old; I graduated from Coatesville High in Pennsylvania, but went to North Miami High for a
little bit. I came home during the summer breaks and spent time in Grand Turk," Marblez explained. "I just recently came
back home to stay."
The 26-year-old says that he has been in the music business for some time, and wants to bring his signature sound to
the TCI. "I started writing music in '95, but I started really doing my own thing in 2004 in the United States and now
taking it to another level.
The smooth talking rapper says that "I love the ladies; I'm driven by the ladies, but I am trying to focus on my music
and take it to the next plateau," when asked if he had a fiancé or was looking for a TCI lady.
Marblez' new two track CD release, entitled "Down In Turks & Caicos", is receiving air time on Hot 102.5 FM radio
with Freaky G and 88.7 FM radio. Kenny the Hit Man, from Power 92 FM radio, has expressed an interest in airing the
tracks (which should be already playing on that station as you read this article).
The upbeat `Down In Turks & Caicos' track is a sort of self bio of Marblez' life letting anyone who would listen,
know exactly where his roots lie and how it came about; why the islands are enjoying unbelievable growth and a cry out
to potential visitors to frequent the `beautiful by nature' country. His "flip side" track, entitled `I Control My Destiny' has
a soulful, heavy, refreshing rhythm reminiscent of top 10 R&B tracks from well know American artists.
"Along with my father, we intend to be ambassadors to the TCI; to help promote the destination as having a diversity
that is greater than just beaches and wonderful tropical climate year round. We also intend to show that this country has
talent, on an international level, to showcase for producers who may be visiting," Marblez explained to Baller.
The father of a two-year-old baby girl expressed an interest in the upcoming 4th Annual Music and Cultural
Festival hosted in Providenciales in July this year and also on getting on TEMPO Caribbean music television channel.
"I am working with people that make videos that are shown on TEMPO. I will be shooting a video shortly that I intend
to have aired on that station. Anyone can reach me for information on that at (649) 245 - 8577 or online at
myspace.com/marblez5050."
